On two occasions we have witnessed a young bird crashing into a window glass.
Once the bird recovered and flew away. The second time the bird had passed out and fell to the ground.
We grabbed it immediately to protect it from other animals (cats, dogs...)
After a few minutes, the bird recovered and normally flew away.

The first time we did not have a clue about the reason but the second time we suspected the problem is that maybe young birds have trouble in differentiating real space from reflections in the glass.
Since in both cases the same window glass faceing southwest was involved, maybe the way it was illuminated by the sun contributed to that. So we have glued few strips of the tape to the glass to break the illusion.
Since then there were no more crashing cases. Maybe tape helps?

I could not resist the opportunity to do a portrait while the bird was briefly handled.
